This is SUMO's project website.
I began modding the FLIXEL game engine which became a separate 3D to 2D framework - called STUHL. The overall aim is to develop a semi 3D engine for retro games (e.g. isometric).
The output is still 2D, currently, but the z value has an impact on the viewed y axis (simple substraction).
SUMO the game
SUMO will be a retro Flash based Beat 'em Up game. Goal is to create a nice looking two player fun game and pass class :).
Playable nightly builds
Even though I'm not really sure about showing in work progress, it may be straight ugly, see the following list with playable nightly builds:
2nd movement test
Simply demonstrates the in game character's movement (without jumping). I used this for checking the animation sprites.
All states and first level working in STUHL
